Monday, 27th February 2023, the Council of NGOs in Zambia hosted the first ever celebrations of the World NGO Day in Zambia. In commemorating the day, a number of activities were conducted which included a march past, exhibition, Information Sharing Workshops, and Gala Dinner. The day was graced by the Minister of Community Development and Social Serivces, Hon. Doreen Mwamba as the guest of honour during both day and evening events.
During the World NGO Day Gala Dinner, the Council of NGOs in Zambia, through the youths presented the Strategic Plan for the Council of NGOs in Zambia to the Minister of Community Development and Social Services, Hon. Doreen Mwamba who launched the Plan. Details of what is contained in the strategic plan were explaind by the Eastern Province Councilor, Mr. Kabulansando. He stated that the strategic plan contained the proposed agenda or activities that the Council of NGOs in Zambia planed to conduct in the next 5 years. One of the Activities planned for is the holding of the Congress once the NGO Act is repealed and replaced.
