Copperbelt Provincial Minister Representative, Mr. Daniel Kanenga, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Copperbelt Province, gave a key note speech during the Launch. He stated that it was an honor on behalf of the minister to be invited to such a great program.

He stated that, the United Party for National Development (UPND) recognizes the vast contributions made by Non-Governmental Organisations including the efforts of Civil Society Organizations Country wide in critical sectors such as Health, Education, Economic strengthening, Agriculture and Advocacy on various issues just to mention a few, all of which culminate in the quest for sustainable and transformative development outcomes for the Zambian people irrespective of gender, age, race, ethnicity and of course political affiliation.

He, further stated that without a frame work that guides entities in their quest to deliver effective, efficient, productive and sustainable development milestones, it becomes a challenge to operate in a coordinated and focused manner. Therefore the launch of this advocacy strategy was an opportunity for civil society Organisations and NGOs to work as a united front in addressing the many needs facing our communities in Zambia.

It was against this backdrop that the new dawn government under the able Leadership of His Excellency Mr. Hakainde Hichilema – President of the Republic of Zambia, has reiterated the importance of the multi-sectoral approach to ensuring inclusive development at all levels of society culminating in coordinated efforts to harness tangible and sustainable results. The young people and women are at the core of the Government’s Development agenda and deserve concerted efforts in ensuring a condusive environment for their access to quality, equitable and timely service delivery.

He further stated that the UPND Government had created a forum for enhanced partnerships with NGOs and Civil Society Organisations through upholding the provisions of the NGO Act N0. 16 of 2009, in an effort to enhance transparency and foster collaborative efforts towards coordinated strides in achieving inclusive development without leaving Any One Behind.

The Launch clearly demonstrated the multi-sectoral approach that the UPND Government encourages in addressing inclusive National Development strides at all levels of our society, particularly the commitment to harnessing the capacities of stakeholder participation in critical priority areas regarding the wellbeing of all citizens particularly youths and women.

Finally, he reiterated that the New Dawn Government, the United Party for National Development (UPND), is ready to support such Initiatives as they would build strong coordinated partnerships and embrace sustainable community focused outcomes in enabling children, young people, women and the community at large through stakeholders such as civil society organisations, NGOs and other private entities, to harness critical developmental outcomes for better livelihoods for the people in our Country Zambia, whose population comprises mainly of youths.
